Lo-Cal GainJam 2023 - Mr. Worldwide
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
Inspired by the 1994 Puzzle Bobble, Mr. Worldwide is our entry in the 2023 Lo-Cal gain jam!
If you are on Windows, any of the downloads will work, though I recommend you download the "Post Submission Fixes Version". It comes with the engine and has the least bugs.
For Linux and Mac, you have to download one of the "No engine" variants. Then, you can get your OS's version of love from here. Then, load the .love file with the installed program!

The game loads a black screen on both windows versions. is there a fix for this?

I would have loved some sound effects for the burps but really good. super cute, physics are a bit janky, but serviceable, especially for an updated game jam game, congrats.
It's a lot of fun, I just wish there was a way to fullscreen things.
I will say that this is pretty good. The art style is cute, and seeing the girls with various sizes is fantastic.
The only two gripes I have is that the hit box on the bubbles seem to be more squares than actual circles; the detection seems bigger than it should thus latching onto a spot that doesn't really align all the well.
Also, a few times a bubble just up and vanishes when you launch it, which has lead to a lot of early endings for me.
Can't wait to see more places around the world.
Easily the hardest of all the WG games i've played. Tokyo is BRUTAL
